Sherif Azer
Human Rights activist and Manager of Programs at the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms. Azer is also a visiting professor of international law at some local and international universities.
Azer holds a Ph.D. from the Center for Applied Human Rights at the University of York, where his research focused on the role of Egyptian cyberactivists in vernacularizing human rights. His B.A. in political science and an M.A. in international human rights law, are both from the American University in Cairo.
Azer has produced a number of publications, including a guide to blogging and a book, Cyberactivism in Egypt: A New Social Movement, published in 2012.
